Uit bezorgdheid om politieke neutraliteit zal een stad vaak niet zomaar een evenement afzeggen wanneer het eerst wordt aangevraagd, want in principe mag dat alleen geweigerd worden als het evenement een gevaar vormt voor de veiligheid volgens het stads- of politiereglement.
Wij geloven dat de mars van NSV! op 26 maart weldegelijk een dreiging vormt voor de veiligheid van Leuvenaars, en wij willen de stad Leuven hierop attent maken. Gezien hun extremistische gedachtegoed en hun lang verleden van geweld tegen omstaanders, zowel in Leuven als in andere steden waar NSV! actief is, vinden wij dat dit evenement nooit had mogen goedgekeurd worden.
Als burgers van deze mooie stad kunnen wij ons bestuur een duwtje in de rug geven om hun eerdere beslissing om deze mars toe te laten te herzien. Out of a worry for political neutrality, a city will rarely refuse an application for an event, because in principle these can only be denied if there is a threat to public safety according to the city- or police rules of conduct.
We believe that the march of NSV! on the 26th of march does form such a threat to public safety, and we would like to let this concern be known to the city of Leuven. Given their extremist ideology and long history of violence towards bystanders, both in Leuven and in other cities that NSV! is active, we find that their application should not have been approved in the first place.
As citizens of our lovely city, we can bring attention to this fact to give the city a gentle push to review their earlier decision.
